Dr. Eric Farbman

After completing his master’s degree in chemistry at Tufts University, Dr. Farbman completed his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. He went on to complete his residency in neurology at the University of Pittsburgh and fellowship training in movement disorders in 2004. Dr. Farbman was a clinical instructor in the neurology department and Alzheimer’s disease research center at the University of Pittsburgh.

As a member of the University of Nevada School of Medicine faculty, Dr. Farbman has presented at local, national, and international meetings. He is published in multiple scientific journals including Neurology, Annals of Neurology, and Movement Disorders. He has contributed a book chapter to the textbook, “Contemporary Neurobehavioral Syndromes.”

His current research interest is in Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. However, his fellowship training as a movement disorder specialist makes him uniquely qualified in the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, Tourette syndrome, as well as, other neurologic movement disorders.

Dr. Farbman is the director of the movement disorders center at the School of Medicine. He is director of the medical school’s Huntington Study Group site, as well as, director of the Parkinson Study Group site, the only such site in Nevada.
He is currently recruiting patients for multiple trials in Parkinson’s disease and Huntington’s disease.

He is a board-certified neurologist and an active member of the American Academy of Neurology and the Movement Disorder Society.
