Jamillah Ali-Rahman is an executive with a background in nonprofit organizational development, fundraising, fiscal responsibility, and advocacy. She is experienced in planning and implementing educational and outreach programs, building strategic partnerships, and community engagement.
In 2014, Jamillah founded “Friends of Parkinson’s” to create an organization that will enhance the lives and the quality of life of those affected by Parkinson’s Disease; utilizing my experience and skills, working within my sphere and circle of influence to increase the awareness of PD on every local level nationwide. Jamillah strives to ensure ongoing local programs are held to high standards of excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals
As CEO, Jamillah works to: a) develop an operational plan which incorporates goals and objectives that work toward the strategic direction of the organization; b) ensure that the operation of the organization meets the expectations of its clients, Board, sponsors and donors; c) draft and prepare procedures for implementing the organizational policies; d) ensure files are securely stored and privacy/confidentiality is maintained; e) oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the organization’s programs and services; f) ensure that the programs and services offered by the organization contribute to the organization’s mission and reflect the priorities of the Board; g) monitor the day-to-day delivery of the programs and services of the organization to maintain and improve quality; h) Oversee the planning, implementation, execution and evaluation of special projects i) Communicate with Sponsors and Donors to keep them informed of the work of the organization and to identify changes in the community served by the organization; j) Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, donors, politicians and others to help achieve the goals of the organization; and k) research funding sources, oversee the development of the fundraising plans and aid in the writing of fundraising proposals to increase the funds of the organization.
